The American Deathcare Association

AmDeCa™ is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to uniting, supporting,
and uplifting professionals who serve in the sacred field of deathcare.

Our members include funeral directors, FH & Crem staff, clergy, hospice workers, grief counselors, mortuary transport teams, celebrants, students, industry support organizations & suppliers as well the general public supporters.

We exist to preserve the emotional, cultural, and spiritual importance of ceremony, farewell, and remembrance.

Through professional recognition, public education, deathcare scholarship programs, and a shared commitment to ethical care, we honor both those who have passed — and those who walk beside the grieving.

"Because to serve the dead is to care for the living. We honor both."

Founders Message

David P. Reese, Founder – AmDeCa™

After nearly four decades in the funeral profession, I’ve come to believe something simple, but profound:

We don’t just serve the dead.
We carry the living.

The American Deathcare Association (AmDeCa™) was born from this truth — a belief that our profession is not just a job, but a calling rooted in presence, honor, and emotional wisdom.

Whether you are a funeral director, FH & Crem Staff, crematory operator, hospice nurse, clergy, or grief support specialist, support services, industry organization, member of the general public, and the like... your work matters. It deserves recognition, community, and support.

AmDeCa exists to preserve ceremony, uphold service, educate the public and ensure that future generations know the true value of what we do and the importance of it.

Thank you for walking this path. I’m honored to walk it with you.
